Influenced by Nathan Benn’s photos of Haitians in Krome Detention Center, and video work such as Dawoud Bey’s Evergreen and Jamila Sabur’s Bulk Pangaea, Untitled Everglades Triptych will explore the Everglades as a place of limbo for Haitian migrants, a place of sanctuary for Black Seminoles, and theorize the future of Miami, exploring the Everglades as a place of resettlement of those being priced out of the city.
